There is nothing better than being in the surf as the sun dives into the calmed waters of the Pacific Ocean. This is exactly how, Erin, owner of Sunset Stand Up Paddle, fell in love. That love has now transformed into an even bigger passion of stand up paddle and the merging yoga and fitness with paddling.
Owner, Erin O’Malley, has been an adventurer from a young age. By the time she was 20 she had already competed internationally for the US Snowboard Team and scaled many shear, granite faces in the majestic landscape of Yosemite. From those younger years in the mountains her focus turned to yoga. She now has one of the top national certifications through Yoga Alliance, E-RYT 500. Erin has over 10 years of teaching experience and has now turned her focus to bringing the practice of yoga and challenge of fitness out into nature, in the biggest way.
Truly everything becomes magnified on a paddleboard. The most simple of actions and postures change into a full-awareness endeavor to stay in balance and on the board. It’s not just the challenge that is engaging, it’s the fun too! We know that with our growing spectrum of offerings, we will find something that calls to you! Maybe it is a Sunset Paddle chasing the bottlenose dolphins or an early morning SUP Fitness class that melts away all your stress of the work week? Sunset Stand Up’s biggest focus is to make stand up paddle accessible for everyone, from elite fitness gurus to those seeing the Pacific for the fist time. Say yes, and we promise a memorable excursion.
This summer we are partnering with SUP to YOU, the premier stand up paddleboard shop in Laguna Beach. With our partnership we are able to offer tourists and locals alike the most in depth paddle experience around. From into paddle lessons to sup and sailing half day retreats, we have it all. We can’t wait to have you on the water with us. Schedule your experience today!
“If I could wish anything for my students, it would be for them to know it’s never too late to be adventurous and explore the boundaries of what is possible inside and out.” – Erin O’Malley
